Amy Ingram, Trainer
Specializing in Hunters, Jumpers & rehabilitation projects (whether horse or rider), Amy's biggest joy comes from the finer art of finessing athletes & watching while they reach their true potential. She emphasizes the importance of dressage in order to create the correct muscles & carriage for our athletes. She also enjoys fine tuning both "problem" horses and green horses. She is exceptional at resolving lead change issues and is patient & understanding while a green horse climbs the ladder to success. She understands & relates to fears and issues of both horse & rider and maintains an open mind while finding resolutions to a situation.
"Greatness is not where you stand...but the direction in which you go."
Background
Amy has been competing on the A-Circuit since 2000. Since her parents did not have the money for the high priced horse, Amy had to create a champion. Her and her close companion, Good Intentions, climbed the ladder to success together. Over the years, these two traveled from Short Stirrup to A/O Hunters, Equitation, & Medals. They took home numerous year end championships and were often sought after competition in the Medal arenas.
Prior to becoming a professional, Amy trained and retrained many horses with either mental issues or physical soundness issues. She understands the patience necessary for the rehabilitation process of a broken down athlete.Amy has had the great fortune to work with top professionals within the industry. Prior to her "A" Circuit career, she had the great misfortune to work with several professionals at the bottom of the industry. Scared & defeated, she found Jessie Biglow in 1998, thus beginning her "A" Circuit future. Amy has since then worked with (&/or been employed by) renound professionals such as (but not limited to)Carole Atkinson (her mentor since 2005), Paul Bennett, Lucie Wharton, Carol Wright, Dianne Yeager, and dressage trainer Lyn Ringrose-Moe, who taught Amy how to feel what the horse is doing with its body.
Amy enjoys and encourages her students to take advantage of clinic opportunities and has had the privilege to work with and gain advice, knowledge and insight from great horsemen such as Michael Page, Nick Karazissis, and Richard Kellar.
We openly & warmly welcome clinicians so if you'd like to hold a clinic at our facility, please e-mail us!
